Great reference!

I've referred to this quite a lot. Requires you to be a little forward thinking at times or have some background knowledge as there is some hand-holding, but not everything will be described in great detail. However, repeat the initial steps through repetitive situations and you'll get the lesson. I still refer to this when rigging characters. Great book though feels dated now.

This book was required by one of my 3d animation classes. after doing several of the tutorials my class mates and i realized that the authors frequently skip steps, have poor image examples, and are hard to learn from. i do not recommend this book to anyone.

About the Author
E. Russell ("Rusty") Braziel is one of the most respected authorities in the field of energy information and markets. With an extensive trading and analytics background in the markets for natural gas, natural gas liquids and crude oil, he is uniquely qualified to interpret the economic, commercial and pricing consequences of the shale revolution.

Rusty is president and CEO of RBN Energy, a leading energy consultancy providing analysis and advisory services, best known for its rock-music themed Daily Energy Post, a blog that goes deep into the details about energy market trends, the mechanics of how energy markets function, and the workings of economic and operational energy models.

The musical theme of RBN's daily blog harkens back to Braziel's previous career in the music industry. From the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s he played bass, guitar and pedal steel in a number of rock and country groups in East Texas, Tulsa and Los Angeles.

Rusty spent 20 years with Texaco (now Chevron), serving as Vice President of Natural Gas Marketing and Trading and Manager of NGL Supply. Subsequently he was Vice President of Business Development for The Williams Companies, President of Altra Energy Technologies and co-owner of Bentek Energy. Outstanding! By far, the best book on the energy markets that I've read in years.

This is not the story from the outside in, it is the story from the inside out. Braziel has spent his entire career in energy markets -- as a trader, in technology, in business development and now in analytics – and you can tell it from his real world description of events, and from his insights that cut through the hype and misinformation that usually accompanies explanations of today’s energy market turmoil. The book argues that everything that has happened in the shale era has happened for a reason. And that the reasons can not only be understood – they can be anticipated. For anyone that wants to understand where crude oil and natural gas markets are headed, this is the book to read.

Good oil/Gas book very current

I've read most of the fracking oil books. This book does a good job of explaining historic oil and gas, along with current issues. Explains enough of the physics of oil and gas. Also helped me understand the place of NGL's in the mix. Does good job of explaining North America status as oil/gas producer, and what that means for the US. Discusses the Midstream importance in affecting Hub prices. Didn't help me pic good MLP from a Bad MLP. Worth the money and time

Through his extensive experience Rusty Braziel explains the trends and why they occur based on the economics of each. I read his blog every day and now am recommending his book to all. What she saw as a difficulty I saw as an opportunity for another humorous story...with just a little tweaking.

If ever there was a writing more fun to produce than "Loose Stools", congratulations. �To say this book was fun to write would be an understatement. �I was handed nearly all topics first hand. Oh, I had to see the humor in some less than humorous situations, but many of the events were in fact Laugh your Head Off funny.�This whole book was started from a not so funny trip to retrieve a wandering "Pops". Once I saw the humor in his misadventure, the rest of the stories became progressively easier...and more fun to scribe down and finally set to a story. Sure I added some things to lighten up the stories, but not as much as one might think would be necessary. �And believe it or not...the stories continue to this day.�

About the Author
Charles L. Gaby, is a retired IT Professional. He held various Information Technology (IT) management positions including Vice President of Information Systems for an international manufacturing company and for two decades was president of his own software development company which he sold in 2011. � He wrote several technical manuals, including thousands of pages documenting software systems and also wrote many manufacturing systems related articles. He is a lifetime certified member of American Production and Inventory Control Society (CPIM) and remains active in software consulting.Combining pleasure writing with business writing was always a business challenge and Gaby longed for the day when the restrictions of business were removed. Fresh into retirement in 2013 produced the opportunity with "Growing Up Greene". In his first book he reminisces about his farmland childhood in northern Indiana. �"Loose Stools" was not meant to be the next book, but real world events presented a gift of a story about growing old gracefully and otherwise. It also allowed his sometimes chaotic humor styles to flow. ��Future works include "Korean Picture Book" which is a pictorial covering his Korean tour of duty during the Vietnam war.

A Humorous Look at Elder Care.

You don't often see the terms humor and elder care in the same sentence, but this is a great book for someone to read who has not yet gone through the years of taking care of, and coping with an elder relative, which all of us will do. It shows us that no matter how crazy and sad we can still find joy , and love, in the most terrible situations the old folks put themselves in, and their loved ones. I found myself laughing out loud to many of the stories Gaby related about his and his wife's adventures in helping Max. I don't believe at the time he found the humor of it all, but has been able to find it afterwards, which is almost as good. I have gone through it with two, and was able to sit around with my siblings and laugh about it, which really helped with the stress and heartbreak. Gaby's writing style is humorously chaotic, and he has a knack for telling a good story without boring the reader with all the details. Its an enjoyable quick read that I can happily recommend.

One of the funniest reads!

This book is full of life's idiosyncrasies following the life of the authors father in law. From Wal-Mart to Comcast and everything in between, you will find that you've gone through a similar path with one of your own family members. You'll be left in stitches reading about the GPS voice in the car because we have all had the same reaction as the author had. One of the easiest and funniest reads you will ever really read. Looking forward to the next book from this author. I gave it 5 stars easy!!!!!

About the Author
Mary Jane Smith, PhD, RN, earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and her doctorate from New York University. Her majors at the master's level include medical-surgical nursing and mental-health nursing; and nursing science while in the doctoral program. She has held faculty positions at the following nursing schools: University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, Cornell University-New York Hospital, and Ohio State University; and is currently Professor and Associate Dean for Graduate Academic Affairs at West Virginia University School of Nursing. She has been teaching nursing theory to master's students for over 25 years.||Patricia R. Liehr, PhD, ARNP, graduated from Ohio Valley Hospital, School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She completed her baccalaureate degree in nursing at Villa Maria College, her master's in family health nursing at Duquesne University, and her doctorate at the University of Maryland--Baltimore, School of Nursing, with an emphasis on psychophysiology. She did postdoctoral education at the University of Pennsylvania as a Robert Wood Johnson scholar. Dr. Liehr is currently professor and associate dean for nursing research and scholarship at Florida Atlantic University, where she has been since 2004. Prior to that she was a professor of nursing at the University of Texas--Houston Health Science Center, School of Nursing for 15 years

Useful for Graduate Nursing Theory Class

One of my classmates recommended this for a graduate class on nursing theory to help choose a theory for our projects. It provided a great in-depth discussion of many different theories, enabling me to identify a middle range theory and have enough information to use it for my project without spending hours and hours searching for an applicable theory online.

About the Author
Jean Van Hamme was born in 1939 in Belgium. His major breakthrough came in 1977, when he created the Viking hero ThorgalA" for Grzegorz Rosinski. The mix of medieval legends and heroic fantasy soon became a huge success, with major awards following. He is also the creator of the bestselling series Largo WinchA" and XIIIA" (published in English by Cinebook). Grzegorz Rosinski is one of the most popular artists of comic books in Western Europe. Among his later works are the series Thorgal and ChninkelA" (with Van Hamme) and a series titled La complainte des landes perduesA" (with Jean Dufaux).

Beautiful Artwork and a Solid Storyline

I greatly enjoyed this tale of the West in the 1880s.

The artwork is beautifully drawn: highly detailed and with a very muted but appropriate palette that really enhances an already good story. The splashes of color - typically blood from a gun shot or knife wound, really stand out all the more and punctuate the difficulty of life in the wild west. The art is also highly detailed - full color throughout and with none of the sparsity of modern digital comics. Chapters are divided with gorgeous, 2-page, high color painting-like artwork.

The story itself is excellent: with many unexpected twists and turns taken from a first person perspective. The artist gave the main character an almost childlike face to set off all the character goes through in the many years the story spans. Things always come full circle and this definitely is true of this moving story.

The book and story were definitely good enough for several rereads to experience the many nuances of the story. In all, highly recommended.
